We received the Orange Seal Ceramic Bearings from Boca Bearings today. We're excited to get started on the article/review over the next upcoming couple of weeks. Unlike other reviews that only report on the product itself, when we are doing a review or article particularly on other businesses our review starts before the product is even received, thus we report on customer service, ease of ordering, and packaging, so you get the full spectrum of the company.

Having done business with Boca Bearings for a number of years I believe we are perfectly aligned to provide you with a great article on not only the products they manufacturer but also the business and most importantly the people behind the business that makes it all happen so that you can enjoy your fishing even more.

Look forward to the upcoming article as we start our analysis, field testing, and final report! and we would like to thank Boca Bearings for supporting the sport fishing community. :)

ReelSchematic, it's staff and affiliates are never paid to do reviews or articles and receive nothing in return for providing them.

Welcome Old Man Winter

Well it's getting to be that time of the year again, you can feel the weather changing, leaves are changing colors and the temperatures are getting cooler at night. I've noticed the aquatic vegetation starting to disappear at our lake, which is always my first sign that colder weather is on its way. Granted with 120 degree temps many days this year I welcome Old Man Winter, but its a sad time too as well because I am a topwater bait kind of person, it must be the rush of excitement that you get watching a fish bust the surface after your lure. But it's time to start pulling out the crankbaits and jigs again.

Here is California we get some wild temperature swings, from 120F in the summer to 20F in the winter months, so fishing can be a challenge to say the least, but it sure makes for some interesting trips!

Post your winter pics this year, we will pick the best one we love, and the winner will get $50 of in-store products of their choice! ;)

Dry Lubricants and Tungsten

ReelSchematic, with our BadFish Lubricants and industry-strength Pur-Tungsten Lubricants, has not only lead to revolutionary results in the sportfishing and marine industries but has also given many industries the ability to lower maintenance costs and better protect investments in their equipment.

There is an ever increasing demand for higher-performing lubricants as industries search for ways to extend the life of their equipment and at the same time lowering the cost of maintenance. Complex part designs in high-strength steel is a challenge for making use of conventional lubricants. Oils are not perfect but they can be enhanced by incorporating semi-solid additives such as Tungsten Disulfide.

Tungsten Disulfide has better lubricating properties than MolyB, with the same content, tungsten disulfide's oil film strength is 1.1 times that of molybdenum disulfide, and the coefficient of friction is .9 times less than molybdenum. Tungsten disulfide doesn’t dissolve in water, oil, alcohol, grease and other organic impregnants, and doesn’t dissolve in ecumenic liquors of acid or alkali, except nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and the admixture acid of nitric acid and hydrochloric, whose oxygenation abilities are strong. In the atmosphere, tungsten disulfide will be disassembled at 510 ℃ and oxygenized rapidly at 539 ℃. It can be lubricative for a long time below 425 ℃. In vacuum, its disassembly temperature is 1 150 ℃ . Tungsten disulfide’s intensity of antipressure is 21 MPa. Tungsten disulfide’s radio resistance is better than that of graphite and molybdenum disulfide. It has nicer lubricating capabilities, not only applicable to the usual lubricative condition, but also to the rigorous work environment, such as high temperature, high pressure, high vacuum, high load, radioactive and mordant medium.

In the past, industries relied more heavily on Molybdenum Disulfide or Graphite because of its relative lower cost, as is evident by the numerous amounts of grease and oils you can still find manufactured with both. Tungsten Disulfide was however considered the "Elite" solid lubricant because of the cost and was used exclusively thought the aerospace and government military organizations. The price of this "Elite" lubricant, Tungsten Disulfide, has drastically reduced in cost over the recent years to now with grasp of all industries. Tungsten Disulfide is still renowned among the scientific industry as the most lubricative substance known to modern science.

ReelSchematic has been the first to introduce the marine industry to the use of Tungsten Disulfide lubricants, and it was met with resounding approval from manufacturers after just one use! You will continue to see our line of Tungsten products used in many facets of manufacturer, maintenance and repair, as we move forward. We welcome you to take the challenge, try the products and see for yourself what a difference they will make in performance, reliability, sustainability, extendability, and lower costs.

Where is ReelSchematic headed?

ReelSchematic has from our beginning always remained flexible with the ever changing markets, and we are still changing every day to meet the demands of our current and future customers. We recently under went a large change by moving to dual dedicated servers, to support the rising hits we receive and also provide some redundancy against failures. I won't say it was an easy migration, but then does anything good come easy? Our techs worked around the clock to ensure there was degradation in our data and that the move would be as transparent to our customers as possible. If we were successful then you probably didn't even notice anything, which spells success to us!

ReelSchematic remains dedicated to serving the marine/sport fishing industry, as well as we have expanded to cover many industrial markets with our Pur-Tungsten line of lubricants.

We have a Reel Repair Guide that is in the works, sorry we don't have a timeline of when it will be released yet. The book will cover more in-depth reel repair and care tutorials, lots of nice step by step photos, diagrams, etc. We're excited about getting it finished and out to everyone! So look for it in the near future!
